Summer Letter 1
Dear Seacoast Community, click here to read the first of 3 summer letters. I started July 1st and I am slowly moving in and meeting staff and parents along the way. Please feel free to call or stop by. My schedule is filled with conferences in July and babysitting my 2 month old grandson while Mom goes back to work, however, August is clear sailing. Glad to be here. Have a great summer.
Summer Letter 2
Even though it is July, the school has been busy interviewing for positions. We would like to introduce to you Lisa Babcock. Lisa will be teaching 7th and 8th grade math and science. She has been working at Seabrook Middle School and has a strong background in math. She will be an excellent addition to our staff. Lisa has an applied Mathematics degree from University of Mass and 5-8-mathematics certification from Granite State College. She has tutored in algebra I and II, geometry, pre-calculus, biology, chemistry and physics. This will certainly add additional rigor to our middle school math program!
Secondly, you will find the second in a series of letters explaining Smarter Balance State Assessment and how Seacoast has chosen to respond to State mandated testing. Seacoast accepts all accountability measures, however, with the addition of competency development and performance assessments, we hope to improve our system with a higher level of shared responsibility to improve our school. We will meet and exceed State and Federal forms of accountability resulting in documented improvements in student learning and achievement. The last letter of the summer will arrive sometime the second week of August explaining the logistics of starting school.
In the meantime, enjoy your fun in the sun!
Yours in education,
