AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS IN ART, DANCE AND MUSIC

Session 1: September 20, 2010 - November 12, 2010

Cost is $75 per 8 week session

Monday

SCS String Orchestra - 3:15-4:15

Open to students with at least 2 years of playing experience.

SCS students with 1 year may also “audition,” and will be selected on a case by case basis.

Students outside of SCS should be ready to play a short piece of their choosing, as well as the C, G (2 octave), D and A scales.

All students must be willing to practice outside of class.

We will perform the pieces we are working on the last day of the club, Nov. 22 for any family and friends who would like to attend. We will also play the pieces for one of our whole school meetings.

Tuesday

Seacoast Singing Club - 3:15-4:15

The SCS after school Singing Club will focus on the use of traditional American music to provide an opportunity for students to enjoy singing together while becoming more confident singers/musicians. This after school club is available to third graders and up regardless of singing experience or skill. Bookmaking with Judy Lee 3:15-4:15 PM

Learn how to make a variety of books from a paste paper journal to various folding books. Students will learn paper folding techniques, how to make paste paper, cover and bind a basic journal. Open to grades one through four. Space available for six to ten students.

We will be focusing on creating our own compositions/routines; without the being limited to a particular style of dance. I do recommend that the student expresses interest or is willing to be in the class.
