Art History Book assignment:

ART HISTORY BOOK

Assignment:  Over the year you will be creating your own art history book.  This book will have images, text, and hopefully a little creativity in its presentation and design.

Requirements:

• 100 entries/images spanning the history of the Americas

• A description of the image (correct spelling is required)

• Chronologically presented (some form of a timeline may be helpful)

• Must be presented in a neat legible format.

• This is art, so I would hope that many of you would come up with some original and creative ways to present this information to the class.

• A design and layout proposal is due Sept. 25 for review.  Sign – up times for reviews will be posted in class.

You are all studying the history of the Americas, ancient through modern times, so there will be plenty of resources to draw from.

Due Date:  May 28^th, 2010.  If you will be going out of town for an early Memorial Day vacation, your work will need to be in at the beginning of that week (May 24^th – 28^th).  Any late work will receive a 50% deduction in points, essentially a failing mark.  This assignment will be 25% of your grade during each trimester.  (this means you will need to be working on this throughout the year)  There will be periodic check dates to review and critique your work in progress.  I will announce those dates with two weeks notice.

Nov 16 - create a template for collecting and organizing your research.
